Brooklyn City Blues: Crafting Stories with Glass Mosaics

August 13th, 2024
2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Join us for an afternoon of community and mosaics designed and led by our fabulous high school interns from the Bloomberg Arts Internship - Rosally & Brianna! This drop-in workshop will cover the basics of mosaics, getting comfortable with the tools used in the process, and general do’s and don'ts that you can apply to future projects. Participants will work together to complete a mosaic inspired by the Brooklyn skyline, which will be proudly displayed within our studio once finished!

This is a collaborative project. Participants will not be making individual artworks to take home.

This event is free! If you’d like to support more free programs at UrbanGlass, please purchase a $10 ticket.

What to Expect: Participants will work together to fill in several different mosaics panels following a pattern designed by our interns, paint-by-numbers style. You'll come away with knowledge of the basics of mosaic making, including how to cut and adhere glass to a substrate.

Eligibility: This event is open to all levels and ages. No previous experience required. Ages 12 and under must be accompanied by a chaperone.
