What’s in Your Mold? Intro to Kiln Casting

April 14th - April 16th
Kellie Krouse |

Molds are a great way to recreate the texture of an object in a new material. This weekend workshop will dive into how to create a surface texture in one material and through the use of molds, recreate it in glass. Utilizing techniques such as sculpting with clay and manipulating fabric, we will create surfaces to make molds on. We will then fill these molds with glass and after time in a kiln we will have new glass objects. Students should come prepared to experiment with different ways of capturing texture and an openness to learning a new technique!
