Mold Blowing and Casting in the Hotshop

August 26th - August 30th
Dean Allison |

Explore hot glass mold blowing and casting into sand. Students will learn how to implement basic mold processes to capture form and detail. Starting with clay forms, students will follow the steps to create a blow mold to bring into the hotshop, allowing them to transform their clay piece in hot glass. Later, we will cast into impressions made in sand or on graphite, to ultimately build a visual vocabulary of ideas in glass.
