In this class we will focus on increasing our creativity with complementary collaboration using hot blow molds. Pam and Alison are artists who work as a team, sharing ideas and inspiring each other. Their work comes from a creative third mind, which they access by working together and by leaving assumptions behind.
-In the hot shop and mold shop we will work on expanding our artistic potential with collaborative exercises and discussions. We will learn how to make hot blow molds, how to add inclusions into the molds as well as cold assemblage. Students will leave with the tools needed to feel comfortable in the mold shop and with mold blowing.
-Expectations are discouraged but do plan to have fun!
-Students are encouraged to bring in a fruit, vegetable, soft item, or wax positive for the first day of mold making. Clay will be provided for mold positives as well.
This is an in-person class taking place on-site at UrbanGlass. Health and safety guidelines will be emailed to you upon registration. Our top priority is keeping our community safe. At UrbanGlass, masks are still required for all ages 2 and older (we recommend a KN95 or KF94 mask). Temperature checks continue at the security desk when entering through the Rockwell entrance. We ask that if you were recently directly exposed to COVID-19 and are awaiting test results that you do not come to class, and we will work with you to find another class placement or refund you the class fee. Current policies are subject to change based on additional information, including the city's new alert levels page.
