Exploring Glass Lamination

This workshop will explore how glass lamination can enrich one's artistic palette and expand technical vocabulary, layering sheets of glass, inclusions, and adhesive for dynamic effects. Students will learn how to design for a particular desired outcome and to use transparency, translucency/opacity, and textural variety of glass as a palette. Blocking, redirecting, reducing or enhancing light, alternating luminosity and vibrancy, and creating glass panels that are visible in both daylight and at night will be among discussion topics. Open to all skill levels.

Sasha Zhitneva is an award-winning designer and artist who has worked creatively with glass since 1995. She studied in Russia, Spain and in the United States.
