Victoria Ahmadizadeh Melendez

(she/her) creates poetic installations that merge glass, neon, imagery, and text, drawing from her Puerto Rican and Persian heritage. In 2024 she was awarded the Adele and Leonard Leight Award from the Speed Art Museum (Louisville, KY) and she has held residencies at Blue Mountain Center, the Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass, Tacoma Museum of Glass, and Pilchuck Glass School, among others. Her work has been exhibited at the Philadelphia International Airport, the Museum of Craft and Design, Traver Gallery, Fleisher Art Memorial, UrbanGlass, and more. Ahmadizadeh Melendez holds a BFA in Glass from Tyler School of Art (Philadelphia, PA) and an MFA in Craft/Material Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University (Richmond, VA). She currently lives in Northern California where she is Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Glass at California State University, Chico.
