Morgan Madison is a Pacific Northwest based artist. Growing up in Denver, CO as the middle of three brothers he sought early on to find his own niche. Inspired by the dynamic illustrations in his comic books, Morgan began to draw and it quickly became his first love. Through the encouragement of his parents and teachers this developed into a series interest, one which led him to Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR where he received a BA in Studio Art with a focus in Drawing.

A fateful job casting and blowing glass in the fiery depths of a factory after graduation led to his pursuit of glass as an artistic medium. He has been working as a full-time professional artist for the last seven years and has spent this time exploring the dialog between glass and other media and the relationship between media and idea. Today, working from his studio in Seattle he uses a variety of processes and materials to create work that is informed by his love of drawing and inspired by place- the colors, materials and forms that comprise the man-made and natural environments around us. His interest in these elements stems from their ability to tell us about the character of a place as well to reveal something about ourselves.

Morgan has shown work throughout the Americas in group and solo exhibitions. He was the recipient of a Regional Arts and Culture Council Grant in 2010 and an Oregon Arts Commission Grant in 2011. He has recently been invited to be an artist in residence at the Museum of Arts and Design in Manhattan during the summer of 2015.
