Michele Xiaoyun Fan was born and raised in China. She studied photography and art history in the United States and has been practicing ceramics for almost a decade. Michele embraces the paper lantern making tradition in her culture and turns them into ceramics with her handbuilding techniques. She is currently based in Brooklyn.
