Kim Thomas is known for her intentionally flawed and unusual characters in her sculptural work. Her attention to detail and regard for the grotesque contribute to its intensity. Her ambition is to show viewers that beauty can be found where you least expect it.
Kim graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Ceramics and later worked as a special effects makeup artist. She has always had a fondness for glass and found her real passion when she began her flameworking career. Now residing in Philadelphia, PA. Kim is a professor of glass at Salem Community College in New Jersey and teaches across the United States.
