Jennifer Bueno grew up in Seneca, South Carolina. She attended Rhode Island School of Design where she received a BFA in glass, and has earned two MFAs one from Bard College in sculpture and one from Alfred University in glass. Her work combines the material of glass with satellite imagery to form groundless landscapes that shift sensorial experience. Using beauty as a device to draw attention to the rapid changes occurring on our planet Bueno hopes to raise awareness of our human impact. She has been a resident artist at Penland School of Crafts, The Studio at Corning Museum, and an Emerging Artist in Residence at Pilchuck Glass School. Her work has been shown nationally and internationally. In addition to her solo work Jennifer is a designer for Bueno Glass, a company she and her husband Thor formed in 2004. They have two children and live in the mountains of Penland North Carolina.
