Dick Weiss

Born in Everette, WA, Dick Weiss holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, from Yale University. Dick is known for his large-scale, public glass installations; particularly those at the Seattle/Tacoma Airport, the Port of Shanghai in China and at the University of Washington. Weiss has worked with stained glass since 1971 and is long affiliated with both the Pilchuck Glass School and the Pratt Fine Arts Center, in Seattle. Weiss has received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, twice, in 1981 and 1987, for his work combining folk and contemporary art traditions. His work can be found in collections around the world including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Corning Museum of Glass in New York. Mr. Weiss taught at the Pilchuck Glass School, most recently, in 2024 and has an exhibition of his work, at the renowned Traver Gallery, in Seattle, in March of 2026.
