Instructor

I grew up in the state of Pennsylvania, where twice a month I traveled through the Pocono Mountains and was fascinated by miles of road cuts. I received my undergraduate degree from Alfred University in the glacial region of New York State where I studied sculpture and glass and took the geology and astronomy courses that still inspire much of my work. After graduating from Alfred I traveled throughout the country for a year and a half; once around by train, then once around by car. I learned the color of the soil and the texture of the landscape in each state.

I moved to Providence, Rhode Island to intern with glass artist, Daniel Clayman. where I developed my skills in the processes of model making, kiln cast glass and bronze finishing. After working with him for several years I attended graduate school at Rhode Island School of Design to receive my Masters degree in Glass. I have been teaching glass kiln casting in their Glass department for the last 16 years. Five years ago my husband, Curtis and I started our Family, and now we have two busy, curious, and enthusiastic daughters; Eowyn and Juniper.

I continue to observe and draw inspiration from the mechanics of the earth and sky as I pursue my work in the studio. I am currently rebuilding my website. Look for it soon at adrianneevans.com
