The Studio of The Corning Museum of Glass Announces 2019 Artists-in-Residence and Researchers-in-Residence

The Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass has announced its Researchers and Artists-in-Residence for 2019. Twelve artists selected from around the world were invited to utilize the studio and indulge in their craft for one month

In addition to the Studio residencies, two artists and two scholars were chosen for the David Whitehouse Research Residency for Artists and the David Whitehouse Research Residency for Scholars. This means that they will spend up to three weeks in the Rakow Research Library, informing others of their practice and area of specialization. These residents will also host public "Lunchtime Lectures", in which they will discuss their inspirations and personal work. 

The 2019 Artists-in-Residence: Shinobu Kurosawa, Jim Butler, Alison Siegel, Pamela Sabroso, Sarah Briland, Atelier NL, Nathan Sandberg, Gabriela Wilson, Matthew Curtis, Machiko Ito, Aya Oki, Brandyn Callahan, & Phirak Suon

David Whitehouse Research Residency for Artists: Marc Barreda, & Norwood Viviano

David Whitehouse Research Residency for Scholars: Crawford Alexander Mann III, & Freyja Hartzell

Glass: The UrbanGlass Quarterly, a glossy art magazine published four times a year by UrbanGlass has provided a critical context to the most important artwork being done in the medium of glass for more than 40 years.
