OPENING: Vermont Glass Guild's 10th anniversary exhibition

On Saturday, July 3rd, from 4 PM to 6 PM, the Southern Vermont Arts Center will host the opening reception of "2021˚F: 10th Anniversary Vermont Glass Guild Exhibition," a notable group show that will be on view through August 22, 2021. Established in 2010, the Vermont Glass Guild consists of over 40 regional artists working in various techniques of glassmaking, and the group has exhibited widely individually.

Guild members include Robert DuGrenier (also a board member of UrbanGlass, which publishes the Hot Sheet), who will feature the blown-glass shells he creates for interactive works with wild sea creatures (see the brightly colored hermit crab shell on the exhibition invite); Jen Violette, who takes the garden vignette into new expressive territory in her sculptures; Robert Dane, who crafts exquisite Venetian-inspired glassware and artworks; and Josh Simpson, well known for his planetary-themed spheres and other astronomical inspirations.

Renowned glass artist Toots Zynsky will deliver keynote remarks at 3 PM, to lead into the official opening reception.

Pre-registration is required for the keynote. SVAC and VGG members may attend for free, while others can attend for $10, which also grants admission to the exhibition.

The exhibition will be on display through August 22, 2021.
