The Museum of Glass hotshop, site of a live Webcasts of visiting artists using the studio, is seeking a “hotshop team starter.” The responsibilities include initiating pieces being made, working closely with the gaffer in preparation and set up, and setting up the shop for scheduled activities and clean-up.

Applicants must have a B.A. and five-years experience in the hotshop, an ability to communicate through drawing and good public speaking skills. For a complete list of requirements and more information on where to apply, see the Museum of Glass online job listing here.

The competition for this prestigious position is reportedly fairly fierce. With a deadline of June 30th to apply, it will only get more competitive in the weeks to come.

Glass: The UrbanGlass Quarterly, a glossy art magazine published four times a year by UrbanGlass has provided a critical context to the most important artwork being done in the medium of glass for more than 40 years.
