Suzanne Peck: Shapes Like Holes

July 14th – August 27th, 2021
Exhibitions

Opening Reception: Wednesday, July 14th 6-8 PM with the artist speaking at 5:45 PM.

Presenting a new body of work, Suzanne Peck’s Window Gallery exhibition offers a balance of hard and soft. Treading the line between voluptuous comfort and swaddling disquiet through the utilization of textile and glass, Shapes Like Holes communicates notions of desire, loss, and longing.  Peck eschews clarity, embracing the complicated, the seductive grotesque, the uncomfortable beauty.  Reflecting the artist’s interest in skin and touch as conceptual underpinnings to her practice, this work culminates in an experience where closeness, connection and absence are ever present in the viewer’s mind.

Artist Bio

Suzanne Peck is a visual artist, writer, curator and educator. She earned her MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design’s glass department. Indeed, glass provides continued inspiration in her work, even when the substance itself is absent. Using glass, photography, digital video and new media, her art practice considers touch, interconnectivity and skin through the lens of sculpture and installation.
