Open Studios: The Elements!

September 21st, 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Enjoy an afternoon behind-the-scenes in UrbanGlass’ 17,000 square foot glass studios learning how the elements - earth, wind, water, and fire - come together in glassmaking. From the chemical makeup of glass itself to the heat we use to shape it, these classical elements inform everything from glassblowing to neon. Participate in hands-on activities for all ages, and tour our incredible space, learning about glass and the many ways it is used in contemporary art, design, and functional objects. Bring your curiosity to experience the elements of glass in our Fort Greene Studio through artist-led demonstrations and hands-on activities for all ages!

Artist-led demonstrations include glassblowing, flameworking, and neon tube bending.
