Krist Lee: The In-Between

September 9th – October 30th, 2026
Exhibitions

Opening Reception September 9, from 6-9 PM.

This exhibition brings together three installations that explore memory, migration, and the feeling of being between places. Moving between uncertainty, childhood experience, and everyday life, the works reflect moments of transition, where everything feels unstable and not yet grounded. Through glass, scent, and mapping, familiar spaces are revisited and reimagined, from a barbecue shop in Hong Kong to personal locations in Los Angeles. Together, the works consider how memory travels, shifts across places, and continues to exist through material and sensory experience, holding onto what remains even after leaving.

About the Artist:

Krist Lee was born in Hong Kong and moved to Los Angeles at the age of 19. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree with a concentration in Glass from California State University, Fullerton. As a glass artist, his work is deeply influenced by childhood memories and a strong connection to Hong Kong’s cultural heritage. Drawing from everyday experiences, food, and familiar environments, he recreates personal moments through glass and mixed media.

Working with blown glass, cast glass and mixed media, Krist explores how memory can be preserved, transformed, and re-experienced through material. His work often engages multiple senses, incorporating elements such as smell, light, and interaction to evoke a deeper emotional connection.

Currently, he is pursuing a Master of Fine Arts degree in Sculpture and Dimensional Studies at Alfred University, where he continues to develop immersive installations that reflect on migration, identity, and the feeling of being between places.
