Instructor

Since earning her MA in Glass in 2003 from the University of Sunderland, Blood has exhibited throughout the UK, Europe and the USA, as well as Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates.

Notable group shows include with PlusArts Projects where Blood’s neon artworks were exhibited alongside contemporary British artists including Jake and Dinos Chapman, Sarah Lukas, Tracey Emin and Franko B.

Recent solo exhibitions include Sanctuary, a light and sound installation commissioned by Artichoke for the Lumiere Festival, Durham, UK. Twelve neon birdhouses were hidden amongst the trees in St Oswald’s Churchyard, a designated wildlife sanctuary, with an accompanying soundtrack of birdcalls performed by humans, calling out and responding to each other in the dark.

"Sanctuary, was one of the highlights of the festival.  Its placing in the graveyard at St Oswald’s was absolutely perfect and the sound of birdsong after dark was really evocative." -Helen Marriage, Director Artichoke.

Blood has enjoyed an active studio practice since 1999. She is currently Assistant Professor of Light within the Sculpture and Dimensional Studies program at Alfred University, New York.
