Lucky Kernan is a NYC based artist. While they work in glass as a fabricator, educator, & studio technician, Lucky’s theatre training guides their artistic glass practice through the exploration of the fool/clown archetype, creating characters from inanimate objects a la puppetry and mask, and through the application of breath and movement work to the glassblowing process in their day to day. Their work has explored themes of play & light, neurodiversity and mental health, relationships between objects & memory, and gender. They’re also a painter/printmaker/illustrator, a mixed media sculptor, and a writer focused on creating theatre that interacts with real-time glassmaking.
