HELP WANTED: Unique 3D4M program at U Washington is hiring a glass lecturer

The University of Washington is looking to fill a full-time glass teaching position at the School of Art + Art History + Design, at the 3D4M glass studio in the Division of Art. A one-year commitment, the position begins September 15, 2022, and runs through June 15, 2023. The deadline for applications is April 25, 2022. 

The 3D4M (three dimensions, four materials) concentration offered by the School of Art + Art History + Design works across ceramics, glass, and,sculpture, supporting research and exploration into contemporary and interdisciplinary art studies. The teaching position requires leading two undergraduate courses each quarter as well as participating in graduate education. The studio offers facilities for kilnforming, glassblowing, flameworking, and hot working, as well as cold shop and sandblasting equipment. The successful applicant will also have use of a dedicated studio space as well as access to 3D4M’s gallery and diverse facilities while receiving "a competitive salary".

Application requirements include an MFA or foreign equivalent in glass and a knowledge of emerging materials, technology, and theory.

Candidates should also have strong professional and academic records, abilities to include multiple disciplines in their curriculum, and teaching experience beyond graduate school.
