Will Beattie: Open Sky

September 24th – November 14th, 2025
Exhibitions

Opening Reception September 24th 6-8 PM.

With a background in prop making and television, Will Beattie invites viewers to become curious about how we receive information through technology, images, and surfaces. The Window Gallery exhibition titled Open Sky after Paul Paul Virilio’s 1997 publication will feature various cast glass sculptures, lithophanes and his experimental Open Sky series, in which cast glass cylinders and Arduino apparatuses utilize ambient light to create dynamic audio compositions. Inspired by Thomas Wilfred, Fresnel lenses, and early audio technologies such as phonograph cylinders, Beattie’s sculptures work to trace and reflect on our current relationship to media, images, and narrative.
