As part of our 40 x 40 series, a celebration of the 40th anniversary of UrbanGlass, we are offering one free event per month to encourage best professional practices, and to make great institutions and resources in the area known and available to our community.
So far we have covered an array of topics including photographing work. Artist worked with Justin Lin from BKC Photography to get their angles and lighting just right! Participants included Anders Rydstedt who took this photo of a glass vase:
As tax season loomed, we brought in accounting for artists (with a musical twist). Our Education Coordinator, Liesl, took this pictures of everyone enjoying his accounting themed songs:
We also had workshops in artist statements, websites, and contract basics. Coming up in the summer months are workshops on applying for residencies, crowdfunding, and intro to grant writing. In the fall we will cover PR for artists, host a talk on Sharon Louden's book Artists as Cultural Producers, and much more!
