The UrbanGlass Awards, established in 1995, celebrate outstanding achievement in glass and increases worldwide awareness of contemporary glass art, design and architecture.
From 1995 through 2002, four or five Awards were presented annually at a Fall Awards Dinner. In 2002, in the interest of maintaining the prestige of the Awards, the Awards Dinner became a biennial event.
In 2008, the Awards Dinner was folded into the Auction and Glassblowers Ball, UrbanGlass' primary annual fundraiser, to create one event celebrating outstanding achievement in glass: The UrbanGlass Gala: Auction Awards Glassblowers Ball.
In 2010, UrbanGlass changed the name of the event to Fete de Verre.
