Making a Material Palette

November 30th - December 2nd
Efrat Lipkin |

Experiment with new drawing tools to move from observed reality into the realm of imagination. Using a pencil and paper, through a series of exercises with abstraction, drawing from life, and scale-weight material shifts, we will create a material palette of drawn textures. We will then find ways to use this palette to fuse "materials" in the paper's blank space. In a fantastical space - what is the weight, scale, and movement of each material? Coming back to the physical space - how can this invention be used?

Any level of drawing experience is welcome, the workshop will partially focus on drawing from life, perspective drawing experience not needed. Come with an open mind to experiment and find new possibilities.
