Just Glue It: The Illusion of Effortlessness

June 24th - June 28th
Sarah Vaughn, David King |

Cold construction, cold fusing, lamination and just plain gluing are the focus of this course. From meticulous to monumental, we will use coldworking and glue to explore how to create objects that just can’t happen any other way. Students should bring in project ideas, tough repairs and an open mind. We will work together on a group project, in addition to individual projects and will provide a safe place for students to try new techniques while detaching from the preciousness of the object. We emphasize testing ideas and building jigs, so students will leave with a lot more knowledge to be applied to their future glass fabricating goals. Sarah Vaughn and David King share a passion for imagining the seemingly impossible and then trying to make it happen; turns out that requires a lot of glue, patience and determination.

This class has access to Student Hours for the semester, dedicated hours open to student use. Glass processes take practice, so utilize this free time in our studios to learn! For details email Kellie at kelliek@urbanglass.org.
