Illumination Information: Intro to Neon

February 21st - March 28th
Emily Craddock |

In this introductory neon lighting course, students will be encouraged to create a project or series of projects by bending and assembling glass tubing into an illuminated design!  A series of tutorials will be given on fundamental safety, glass bending and splicing (welding) techniques, pattern drawing, wiring, and installation. Students will also see how a tube is processed to become illuminated. We will focus on the importance of an ergonomic work space, and will practice accordingly. This class is designed for the beginner, but is also appropriate for those looking to brush up on or refine their neon skills.

6 sessions: February 21 - March 28

Wednesdays, 6 pm - 9 pm

This class has access to Student Hours for the semester, dedicated hours open to student use. Glass processes take practice, so utilize this free time in our studios to learn! For details call (718) 625-3685.
