The New UrbanGlass Hot Shop in 3D

The new hot shop will have three furnaces, ten gloryholes, and nine benches.  Well in advance of the day it all arrives at 647 Fulton Street, the location of every piece must be set to the inch.  To help our construction team visualize the space, our colleague Daniel, at Wet Dog Glass, produced this 3D model.  In this cut-out view, you see the back of the equipment, including two 1,000-lb furnaces in the foreground.  All of the equipment will be enclosed in what amounts to a huge ventilation duct to remove heat generated by the equipment before it enters the room.  We can't wait to see this space filled with artists at work.
